Filippia Katsampis-Antonakis (also known as Sakellariou and Lagou), b 1848, was one of six children of Antonis Sakellariou and his wife Georgia of Geraki. Sometime after her birth, the family changed their surname from Sakellariou to Antonakis.

Her father, Antonis, died before 1858 as attested in the marriage record of Filippia's sister Diamanto. And, her mother, Georgia, died in 1869.

In 1870, now an orphan and aged 22, Filippia was adopted by Panagis Lagos (1811-1870) from Geraki and his wife Kanellio (1808-1889), who were left childless after their only daughter Zacharo (1838-1861) died in her early 20s.

Near the beginning of 1870, Panagis Lagos passed away, and on 19 September of the same year, Filippia married Apostolis Panagioti Katsampis of Karitsa who was eleven years her senior and came to the Lagos family in Geraki as a sogambros. This is the term for a man who marries and lives with his wife's family instead of setting up his own home or living with his family.

Upon the death of her adopted mother, Kanellio, Filippia inherited the entire estate of Panagis Lagos. This included two sheep and goat holding pens, one of which was at Kokkini Ekklisia and various tilling fields around Geraki, one at Agia Sofia.

Apostolis and Filippia had six children; three sons: Panagiotis (1873-1939), Anastasios (1876-1918), and Georgios (1879-1961); and, three daughters: Katerina (1870-1956), named after Apostolos’ mother, Kanellio (1882-1971), named after her adoptive mother, and Georgitsa (1885-1887) named after her birth mother.

Apostolis died aged 60 on 18 September 1899.

Filippia survived her husband by 14 years and died aged 65 on 4 June 1913.

To date, 87 descendants of Filippia and Apostolis, spanning seven generations have been listed in the Family Trees; the most recent being Hugo Andrew Lowes who was born on 10 June 2019 in Adelaide, South Australia.
